Dorothy Joyce Andrus Wainwright passed away peacefully on May 17, 2017 at the age of 89, in Kingwood, Texas. She was the daughter of Lena Moss Andrus and step-father Van Andrus. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, James A. Wainwright. Jr. and her daughter Beverly Wainwright Cones.

Joyce was born and raised in Lake Charles, Louisiana. She graduated from Lake Charles High school and then went on to graduate from Louisiana State University with a degree in Education. While at LSU, Joyce was a member of the Alpha Delta Sorority. She...

Dorothy Joyce Andrus Wainwright passed away peacefully on May 17, 2017 at the age of 89, in Kingwood, Texas. She was the daughter of Lena Moss Andrus and step-father Van Andrus. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, James A. Wainwright. Jr. and her daughter Beverly Wainwright Cones.

Joyce was born and raised in Lake Charles, Louisiana. She graduated from Lake Charles High school and then went on to graduate from Louisiana State University with a degree in Education. While at LSU, Joyce was a member of the Alpha Delta Sorority. She was an avid LSU fan her entire life.

Throughout her life, Joyce was an avid reader. Her greatest joys were her children and her grandchildren. After raising her four children her hobbies included knitting, smocking and ceramics.

Joyce is survived by three children James Wainwright, III, Catherine Vollmer and Stephen Wainwright; three grandchildren Kristen Marek, Derek Cones and Natalie Cones; and two great grandchildren Everett and Bennett Marek.

The family will receive friends at Kingwood Funeral Home on Sunday May 21, 2017 from 3 to 5:30 pm, which will include a Rosary service. There will be a funeral Mass to celebrate Joyce's life at St. Martha's Catholic Church on Monday May 22, 2017 at 10:00 am with interment in Sallier Cemetery, Lake Charles, Louisiana at 2:15pm.

Memorial donations may be made in Joyce's name to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
